Hey Cait, great article – well written. I love the point about running reshaping expectations of discomfort. I agree and would add that everything in life that is uncomfortable is worthwhile. I am stepping out of my comfort zone for the next 10 weeks, as I go through this training cycle for the Marine Corps Marathon. The training plan I’m following has higher mileage, more running, and a track or strength workout every week. That’s all new for me and having my legs never feeling fresh is helping me learn that I can run on tired legs. That will definitely come in use during the later miles of the marathon.
