  1. Around his head?! Lol. I saw a post awhile back from someone saying ‘look how amazing I am; I ran a marathon and I can still walk…I thank cross fit’.

Surely Cross Fit is the latest Zumba/TV aerobics/Jillian Michael’s Ab Shred/Insanity/Kettle Bell fad. It’s got some merit but something will come and replace it! It’s certainly not the silver bullet to running – the only benefit seems to be that you get pushed a bit harder…something you should be doing in training anyway.

Ooo, this week I learnt about myofascial pathways and sling. So cool – lots of compound work, pressure points and dynamic cable (low weight, high rep) work to add to my strength training.

    • swear on my life…on his HEAD. the crazier thing is that i’ve seen multiple people do this…it wasn’t like a one time freak incident…i do NOT get this fad?!?!

  2. 1.The adage ‘Never go over 20 miles to train for a marathon’ made me scratch my head. It was only when I did that I finally nailed my BQ.
    2. I’ve recently tried Foam Rolling to follow all the rage, and I’m a full convert.
    3. I listen to everything, but it’s all an experiment of one and things that work for one do not work for another.

    • how could i have NOT included that first one!! it BLOWS me away that so many people and coaches profess there’s no need to go over 20 and also i don’t get why more people don’t think it an obvious assumption that they should do at least some of their long runs at a faster than easy clip. i mean, if u want to race that far, don’t u think u should at least test the waters before hand with pushing some longer mileage?? 😛 foam rolling…that is totally legit and something we should all spoon with. look wat u did, u got me on a spooning reference kick.
