CAIT! I love this post! Sometimes I think I am a complete weirdo for loving running so much. Thank you for this list of reminders that we are all in it together! We just get each other and I love that. I love #2. There are days when I start my run and a few minutes in I ask myself why the HECK I like to torture myself. Why can’t I sleep in like the rest of the world? Why can’t I use my 2 hours a day doing something else? The answer is because I LOVE to run. Just like I love to eat. I don’t wake up and decide whether or not I’m going to eat that day. I just do it. The same goes for running. Except with running I give myself “off” days. With eating…not so much!
This list is wonderful Cait. I need to get one of those ‘Running sucks’ shirts because it is so true, we are all bound together by some sick pleasure to beat our feet and hearts into the ground over and over. But there is something strengthening in those miles. I’m going to have to print off your list for some running inspiration 🙂
I hate, hate, hate that song Heaven (must be there) by the Eurogliders. It drives me up the wall because it talks about ‘not wanting to be in this place’ sorry honey, that’s all we’ve got and just look around there’s a lot to want to be here for!! (now stepping off soapbox – sorry).
Running has taught me not to underestimate myself. I started off barely able to run 10 minutes, and now I’ve done a half marathon 🙂
Excellent website you have here but I was wondering if you knew of any user discussion forums that cover the same topics talked about here? I’d really love to be a part of online community where I can get feedback from other knowledgeable individuals that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know.
