  1. I run MORE!!! My grandma and aunt passed away in the same week this year and running singlehandly got me through it. Did I mention this was one month before my wedding?!?!!?!
Racing/running and the rest of life have always stayed pretty separate. Unless of course I need running to get me through something. Work=work. Marriage=marriage. Running=running. Time is the only thing I fight with the combination of all these things.
Why all the hate? Seriously!! My two cents: jealousy. pure unhappiness/misery.

    • u and i are on the exact same page…i run more whenever ‘life’ starts getting crazier!! my word, u poor thing, going thru SO much right before ur wedding. that which doesn’t kill us, right??

  2. Love this post, very well written. As much as I wish that I could control every little thing in my life, I have to realize that it just doesn’t work that way. All I can do is do my very best in whatever it is and hope for the best. And when it doesn’t go my way, still gotta adapt because life keeps moving!!

  3. YAY I definitely needed to read this today! Stay the course for sure, every down will become an up. And I totally agree that life stresses can impact your running – this summer I worked my first ever full-time job, which was an on-your-feet retail gig. It definitely made my running suck for a week or two, until I realized that the job was a huge factor! more food + more sleep + foot massages did the trick though. as for people talking crap about runners…I assume you mean the LetsRun message boards? I stumbled across a thread there once and oh man! so much hate! I don’t think I’ll ever go back and read that crap lol.

    • oh my gosh, foot massages for anyone who runs should be mandatory the world over…tho i’d feel horrible for the poor folks who’d have to touch our feet! 🙂

regarding the message boards, ya some nasty stuff. letsrun’s i think is the worst
