I never thought about it that way! Runners do keep going where other sports allow for periods of rest. And it takes a lot mentally to keep going – not just because of the distance, but because there is no team to work with.
I’m always proud to be a runner when I see people sprint at the end. That final burst of effort after a gruelling run is incredible. I admire it so much.
