Three Times a Runner

It’s safe to say I’m probably a runner more than just three times over, but tonight we’re keeping it at just three.

I run because it keeps me sane. If I don’t I get withdrawals and turn into a horrible monster. Does that make me addicted?

I also run because, let’s face it, eating like a runner is SOOOO worth it.

Running will make you smile…but it will also make you grimace. It’s the sick joy us runners get in pushing ourselves. Pain brings rewards: PR’s. And they’re worth it.

We’re runners more than three times over, but see, there are just too many reasons to list why running makes us feel so stinking good.

1) What’s a caption you could fit to this picture? If you’re a runnerdude, then we’ll pretend there’s no ponytail. 😉
2) What food do you most often dream of during those long runs?
3) If you could describe the face you make heading towards the finish line, what would it be?

  1. During my runs, I’m most often dreaming about…liquids, actually. Either coffee (shorter, early morning runs) or Aquarius/100Plus (for looooong, dehydrating runs).

My “Into The Finish Line Face” is something like, “Let’s DO this!” At least, that’s what I think it is. It might look more like, “ugggggggggggh!”

  2. He he! That pic would be me with my satisfied grin that I am out the door and for just a bit it’s just about ME. “Quick get away before they realise I’m gone!”

Finish line face is so focused. I am always so scared to look sideways or acknowledge the amazing crowd… It’s like the finish line might move if I blink or take my eyes off it. It’s a desperate kind of determination to the finish line for me! :=)

    • hahaha…i’ve been told my face looks like popeye, with the corner crooked up. i think desperate determination to get to that blasted line fits both of us. 😉

  3. Hmm… during my short runs I usually want to get done. My longer ones, I always think of breakfast foods because I’m a morning runner. Omelets, pancakes, waffles… that’s the way to go :). My finish line face usually just looks like I want to die…

  4. I think I would put “can’t stop, won’t stop” with that picture. When I’m out on a long run, I often dream about scrambled eggs with some black beans and salsa. More often than not, that is my post-long run breakfast of choice.

As I am headed towards a finish line, I always have a very determined look on my face, with my eyes zoned in on the finish line itself. I also usually have a smile on my face, no matter how much it hurts. My husband, on the other hand, always has the most terrible grimace on his face. I don’t know why he doesn’t smile 🙂

    • hahaha…i can totally feel ur hubby and the grimace look. it’s okay, we’ll crack that smile once we’re past the line! 🙂 that said, we’ll have to check out those smiling pictures of YOU headed to the finish line. 🙂
