  1. Sunday used to be my long run day but I joined a run club here where SATURDAY is the long run day! And this messes me up but I’m getting used to it, they do a Sunday recovery run instead. I eat a lot of Greek yogurt so hopefully I’m getting enough protein in there *crosses fingers*. I also try to do protein shakes after I work out sometimes or eat egg whites, something like that, to help things along. Protein is definitely important for athletes and also keeps you full too!

  2. Saturday used to be my long run day. Now it is either Monday or Friday because those are the days when no-one else is home. I prefer to spend time with my family on the weekend, and while they are supportive they aren’t going to train for a half marathon with me 🙂
Mum is excellent for a post run cup of tea though, oh and for buying copious amounts of yoghurt for my favourite refuel.
I am a carbo machine too – and luckily my favourite food (chickpeas of course) combines carbs and protein into one tasty little package 🙂

    • what, you sorta like chickpeas, that’s crazy?!!? 😉 juuust kidding…but yea, one awesome pick for a fav food! and major props to mumma chickpea for supplying the post-run tea. 🙂

  3. Love this post Cait! I really like to have my longer runs at the end of the week. I hope to keep uping my miles too! I crash and burn if I don’t have protein in my diet. 🙂

  4. Sunday is my rest day and I look forward to it! I eat pancakes, chill out and nap all day! haha!

i cant wait to get my shirt…definitely going to be running, sleeping, lounging, pretty much living in it:)

i sometimes get terrible about getting enough protein in because i dont necessarily love meat. but the more i read foodie blogs the more i learn about how i can sneak it in and best fuel myself for my runs! its kinda like a fun challenge for me now:)

    • BAM!!! so word on the street is u are now an official chicking machine over there!! hehe…i LUV that u got the shirt and can’t wait for u to rub it in the faces of all those boys u beat. 😉
