Runner Legs Are Always in Style, They Just Look Best Running

I may be partial but I DO believe runner legs look great with everything…they just look their best doing, well, what they do best. πŸ˜‰

Though it may be a stretch to believe I actually have that many ‘regular people clothes.’ Is it wrong if I’ve tried to brainwash myself into believing that Nike shoes and apparel are acceptable to wear anywhere? Actually, once I have my Get Chicking shirt I’ll probably just wear that everywhere and I hope you do too. If not then I’ll just have to cycle through the boxes of shirts in various sizes until the end of my days. πŸ˜‰

Today’s post is going to be short, sweet and focused on the art. Mostly because it is in fact my little sister’s birthday and there are, in fact, things that trump running and running talk, she is one of them. So today I’m taking a VBS: Vacation By Sis. Happy birthday to the daughter in the family who got all the fashion genes! πŸ˜‰

1) Finish this sentence: Runner legs look best when being put to use, but they also aren’t too shabby…

2) Are you one of the a fashion savvy runners or a runner who will use any excuse to rock the running clothes in real life too?

3) What are you favorite running shoes and which are you currently rocking? Are you remembering to use the 500 mile rule??

  1. LOL yes to runner elitism! Though I do feel a bit like an imposter, having not really been able to run for the better part of a year, but hey – you’ve been there too so it’s okay. And when my legs get back to being runner-legs, they will be more biomechanically balanced legs. ANYWAY. Runner legs don’t lever look bad doing anything! walking around the mall, rock climbing, chilling out and propping my feet up with a book….haha. My clothing depends on my mood – I have the cute stuff and like to shop, but I do rock the athletic look probably 70% of the time πŸ˜› That said, I never miss an opportunity to show off my runner legs (cyclist legs are pretty good too, my calves are much more jacked now) – I wear shorts until October and skinny jeans from then on! As for running shoes, the Brooks Ghost is my standby but I’m really looking to try the Newtons….I wonder if they may be the answer to my problems…but I don’t want to pay $100 to have that not be the case….*sigh*

    • awww, thanks!! i’ll pass it along. πŸ™‚ HAHAHA, i kno the feeling of feeling a bit like a poser if i’ve writing on running all the time and too injured to do it for, uhhhh, eternity! jk. BUT, we kno we are runners at heart and NOTHING can change that, and we know we’ll get back to it. me and u, we go the running addiction no matter what. πŸ˜‰

  2. I have pathetic looking legs. My calfs are cankles. They look like old man legs. I’d like to replace them every 500 miles. I tend to date my shoes by writing with a sharpie on the inside, and then keep for 6 months. I feel a bond with them, and hate to give them up, so I probably keep for more like a thousand miles. I go by the oil change rule: if the oil change guys say change every 3,ooo, then I’m probably fine every 6,000.

    • hmmm, i find it hard to believe u actually have kankles! kankles are for fat people, wat u’ve got are exceptionally muscular calf muscles. πŸ˜‰

  3. I wear my running clothes everywhere! I usually go from onesweaty pair to a clean running outfit. Every now and then I dress up but wish I was in my running clothes.
And I am rocking some mizunos shoes now! I love them!!!

    • heck yea, another fellow sweats loving person!! we will overtake the normal people clothes wearers one day…they are warned. πŸ˜‰

  4. Happy birthday to your sis!! I wear runner’s clothes everywhere and shorts for 90% of the year. Don’t get me wrong, I like to look nice…I’m just far too lazy! Runner’s legs look best put to use and then in a cute outfit for post race celebrations πŸ˜‰ I don’t follow the 500 mile rule on purpose, but generally my shoes fall apart by then anyway. sigh. I will always be poor.

  5. I believe lulu is entirely appropriate to wear 100% of the time, since it costs more that much of my regular clothes. Therefore, I wear it almost exclusively on the weekend. My poor dates…

I follow the 390 mile rule or buy new ones before the old ones wear out and work them into my routine!

    • sooo right, even running clothes these days as crazy expensive!! if i’m gonna plunk the change down then i’m gonna wear them as much as possible too! πŸ™‚
