I Ran After The Easter Bunny

Because holidays are just better the runner way.

Happy Running Easter…may you make it through the intervals before you barf and may you eat your weight in chocolate eggs and avoid a refund. 😛

1) Do you tend to throw up after hard workouts or races?

2) Favorite kind of candy or chocolate goodie?
Cadbury does indeed rock, but Junior Mints are quite nice. But nothing beats Pop-Tarts. 😉

  1. 1) I HAVE thrown up after a hard workout and HAVE gotten close during a race but, I feel, if you throw up, it’s your body telling you “You aren’t ready to go THAT hard yet.”

    2) Hands down my favorite treat is Reese’s peanut butter cups. Whomever thought to put peanut butter and chocolate together is a genious!

  2. Happy Easter!

I have only ever had one 5K where I crossed the finishline and threw up. Without being too graphic, I kept it in my mouth. But somewhere on the internet there is a lovely picture of me with boths hands over my mouth and my cheeks puffed out, with the finish line right behind me. Lovely.

I love black jelly beans and Peeps. I’m not a fan of chocolate, so most of the traditional Easter candies don’t appeal to me.

  3. Ugh. No. I HATE to vomit. Like, HATE. When I started running, I always promised myself that I’d work hard at it, but I would NOT push myself to run until I threw up. So far, I’ve kept my end of the bargain. Or, both ends, I guess.

My favorite Easter specific candy is dark chocolate covered marshmallow eggs. Yum. Generally, I like chocolate + peanut butter. But somehow, I’ve recently developed a taste for sour gummies. I guess I’m all over the map. But offer me a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie and I’ll refuse basically any candy. 😉

    • haha…no barfing for me either! i came close once at my very first race, but i’ve come to believe some people are just more apt to barf than others. not so much an issue of ‘well if u haven’t barfed u aren’t THAT hard core’ cuz i’ve met plenty of hard as $h*t runners who haven’t barfed.

  4. Oh…I did my run this morning before devouring my entire Lindt Easter bunny. All gone now, and providing me with running fuel for the rest of the week I’m sure 🙂
I have never thrown up after a hard run, I have fainted the next morning though, or had to walk really slowly the whole day because my blood pressure has been off. But it’s my badge of pride for being a runner. And a reminder to carb up properly afterwards – no problem today with all that chocolate 🙂
I hope you had a wonderful Easter Cait, and happy Easter to your family too 🙂

    • awww, thank you!
oh gosh, that is HARD CORE….running until fainting! lol…but i’m glad u were okay, and ya, can i just say there is a cartoon quip written all over that story. lesson learned: choco-load pre-race! 🙂

  5. Oh…I used to love Cadbury cream eggs (even though I only ate the center and threw away the chocolate). And the commercial where the bunny sounds like a chicken? Priceless.

I sometimes get nauseated after a hard workout, and I still struggle with having to eat during a long run. Since I’m not a fan of runner gels/chews/fuels, I’ve ruined many candy cravings by substituting during marathon training. It’s going to be awhile before I can look at Swedish fish or gummy Lifesavers without my stomach turning.

    Happy Easter to you, too!

  6. I’ve never thrown up after running. My twin brother used to barf after practice all the time in high school and then tell me I wasn’t running hard enough – really? cause I could beat him (then and now!). I just don’t believe in puking!!!

    • i’ve gotten the same where people think they are ‘tougher’ cuz they barf…but sometimes it just means they were out of shape and then just pushed themselves harder than they’re used to. so BOOM in ur fact twin bro! 😉
