  1. Great post! I don’t think I’ve been fast enough to ever be underestimated before, BUT, I totally resonate with your thoughts on believing in yourself and confidence. I used to read your blog before my track workouts to help pump myself up. You do it well!

    • awww, thanks, i’m glad my posts help pump you up!! BUT…i think we can still apply the underdog to you…sometimes we put ourselves as the underdog and underestimate how much we can accomplish. funny how sometimes we have to tell ourselves to think of ourselves as BIGGER! 😉

  2. I started running freshman year of college to fill the void of the team sports I was no longer playing. Halfway through the year, I decided to sign up for a half marathon, having never run more than 3 miles at a time in my life. People kept telling me I was crazy and some even told me “you’re not built like a long distance runner” and “you can’t do that, it’s too far.” Hello!? Like I need to look like an elite marathoner to run?? Obviously, they all just added fuel to the fire and I not only finished that first half marathon (and first road race ever), but I had a blast doing so!
