  1. 1) What was a high point of 2013 for you?
Major improvements in my running, culminating in a 22min PB in my favourite local 11km race!
    2) What is something you’re glad to kick to the curb with 2013?
Being injured! One month after said PB I was diagnosed 3 x stress fractures, bilateral patella tendinosis and osteopenia in my spine. 4 months off and counting. UGH. When I am struggling with thoughts/feelings about this and don’t feel like I’m making any progress in rehab, I think of you and how you came back after being hit by that car. Thank you for being an inspiration!
    3) What are you looking forward to in 2014?
    Running again!!!!!!!!!
    4) What is a running goal for you this New Year?
    Running again!!!!!!!!!

    • Way to go, Sam!!! oh, this comment made my day…i’m SOOO happy to hear of your huge PR but just as much on how mentally strong you were to persevere through those injuries and not let them keep you down. i really appreciate your kind words to me as well. πŸ™‚ HECK YEA for tons of running again in 2014 and beyond…u better keep me posted on all those awesome miles! πŸ™‚

  2. My high point was definitely my son running his first ultra and then getting engaged less than a month later.

Two of my 2014 running goals are to run a sub two-hour half again and to run more trail runs and races. I’m also shooting for a sub 24-minute 5K.

BTW, I loved your article “What It’s Like to Be Coached by Alberto Salazar” in Runner’s World.

    • that is amazing for your son!! Congrats times two!! πŸ™‚ good luck on those running goals of your own…looking forward to watching you crush it in 2014!

  3. Happy New Years, Cait! My high point of 2013 has to be completing my first full marathon. I am glad to kick the Virginia Tech Hokies 2013 football season to the curb. It was a rough one with a bad ending at their bowl game on New Years Eve. I am hoping for better things in 2014 for my beloved Hokies.

Running goal for 2014: Run all the things πŸ™‚
